The Father of Camouflage

Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1921) was a 19th century artist who was always intensely interested in human vision and the coloration of animals. Although he was prominent at the turn of the century, he had been largely forgotten until recently "rediscovered," as a result of the current research of the role of artists in the development of modern camouflage.
