I am looking forward to a new exhibition of twenty-eight of my digital collages that will be on view at ArtStart Rhinelander, a community art center at 68 South Stevens Street, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Titled DIGITAL COLLAGES: Computer-Based Pictorial Forms, the exhibition will be on view from November 19, 2026 through January 2027, with an opening reception on November 19, from 4 to 6 pm.

Less than half of these works were made in 2021, during the social precautions required by the COVID pandemic. The remaining works were made in 2026, by a process in which some of the prior collages (not shown) have been reworked, revised and reconfigured to such an extent that the original versions have been effaced. 

To quote the American fiction writer Donald Barthelme (whose work I first encountered as a graduate student at the Rhode Island School of Design): "The principle of collage is the central principle of all art in the twentieth century in all media." more
